From Kindergarten through 8th grade there is always a lot of excitement about coming to the computer lab! Students continue to enhance the curriculum and practice newly learned skills in technology. From Kindergarten writing and illustrating seasonal books in Kid Pix studio to eighth grade participating in a graduate math research project, we are going far beyond offerings available from any other school in our area. One of the basic advantages of our technology program is that the lab experience is an extension of the classroom. Teachers bring their classes to the lab and teach their class in the lab. Technology is used to teach the student skills that will be used long after the lab experience. Students use paint programs to illustrate an idea and Power Point presentations to present them They learn to do research using electronic encyclopedias and the Internet. Lessons can be extended and completed in the classroom because all classroom computers are networked to the lab, and student files are accessible throughout the campus. You can enjoy the work that the students have completed posted on classroom walls, and on the Internet. Students are very proud of all they have accomplished, and so are we. |
