Dear Parents,
      Field trips are an integral part of the first grade experience.  We try to schedule one field trip per quarter.  Chaperones/drivers are important for a successful trip!  We try to rotate our drivers to allow everyone who has turned in the proper forms to have a chance to drive.  Therefore, we are asking for your help with the following field trip reminders:

• You are only asked to be a driver if you have turned in the proper insurance forms to the office.
• If you are a driver, you are personally notified by the teacher or room mother.  Otherwise, assume you are not needed to drive or chaperone that particular field trip.
• Most of our field trips are prepaid and prereserved.  Extra chaperones and/or siblings are not allowed unless the teacher has given prior approval.
• If you are a driver, please plan to stay the entire time.  Please remember that you are also chaperoning these children, and they should not be left alone at any time.
• On the same token, if you are unable to stay the whole time or are only able to drive one way, please notify the teacher prior to the field trip as we need to find a replacement.
• Drivers are only to go from St. Ignatius to the field trip destination and vice versa.  Drivers should not stop along the way or leave the field trip to attain any “treats.”

Please remember that our goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for your child.  We truly appreciate all of the help and support that you give to us and want all of our field trips to run smoothly.
