The seventh grade students of St. Ignatius were invited to attend a presentation at Davidson High School on September 3, 2008. This assembly was opened only to advanced science classes of various high schools, so it is an honor that we were included in this presentation.
Captain Barrington Irving has an inspiring life story that he will share with the students in the assembly. Captain Irving was the first black pilot and youngest person ever to fly solo around the globe. His goal in making this flight was to “inspire students throughout the world to pursue their own dreams, and to encourage them to consider careers in aviation and aerospace.”
Teachers have asked that permission slips be returned by Tuesday, August 26th. There is a very limited amount of time for the teachers to organize parent drivers to this event, so we ask that you please return permission slips on time.
If you are available to drive students to this event and you are CAPP approved, please let me or Mrs. Carter know. Thank you for all of your help. |
