Text Box: ALABAMA VIRTUAL LIBRARY Sign up for your AVL card at your local library. It is a free card--you only need your library card to obtain it. This resource is funded by the Alabama Legislature and is for every citizen in Alabama. The AVL card needs to be renewed yearly. Where to sign up:  Local Library What it contains:    The AVL  includes databases that cover science issues, current events, health issues, poetry, authors, and much much more.  In addition to reference books and encyclopedias, magazines, journals and newspapers are available.
